ABOUT US
David Butler & Associates, Inc. (DBA) is an Atlanta, Georgia based Architectural Practice founded in 1996. DBA offers both commercial and residential design services, and has experience assembling and leading teams of consulting engineers for larger projects. Our primary focus is sustainable building design. President David Butler is a LEED Accredited Professional. The recently completed Eden House was certified LEED Gold and Earthcraft Gold and is also Energy Star qualified. Our residential project experience includes historic district design and permitting. Our commercial work exceeding 50,000 square feet includes mixed use projects in Atlanta and College Park and office buildings in Peachtree City. Other project types include restaurants, bakeries and multifamily buildings. Our project experience also includes town, subdivision and master planning design.
David’s familiarity with zoning and the permit process has led to appointments on advisory boards related to city zoning and redevelopment goals such as the Westside Tax Allocation District Downtown Advisory Board and the Downtown Livability Code Advisory Board. David is a past president of Castleberry Hill neighborhood and helped produce that community’s master plan and historic inventory, which contributed to the area’s designation as a Landmark Historic District.
Our design philosophy is that Architecture promotes health and well-being when art and technology are combined to produce a beautiful, functional building.

David is a native of Atlanta, a graduate of The Georgia Institute of Technology and The College of William & Mary. David has over twenty years of experience in Architecture, including projects ranging in size from modest residential additions to large commercial and institutional facilities. At William & Mary David played Division 1 basketball and earned a bachelors degree in biology. An appreciation for nature is a consistent theme with DBA design work. David enjoys hiking, biking, reading, fine food, regular visits to the gym and an occasional woodworking project.
